Back in the UK
The Irish singer Frances Black has had a string of hits in her home country, making her Ireland's top selling solo artist in 1994 and 1995, winning Irish Record Music Industry Awards in 1995 and 1997. Her new single Love Me was released in the UK at the end of June, and is due to be followed by the release of her fourth album, Don't Get Me Wrong, at the end of this month.
Her professional career began back in 1986 when she joined other members of her family on a nationwide tour to promote the album The Black Family. Her solo talents were first realised with the release in 1993 of Woman Heart, an album featuring the best of Irish singers, which went on to sell over one million copies.
A major UK tour in September and October will accompany the new releases, and Frances will be visiting a total of 27 venues around the country. Full details are in this month's music diary.
